Deconstructing Martha Jane (or Midshipectomy)
Summer 2000
I started out with a perfectly good Martha Jane.
I made a trip to the hardware store, and bought a DeWalt reciprocating saw, and went to work.
going, going
GONE!
That wasn't so bad actually. The reciprocating saw does a quick and clean job. It is much easier to cut up a boat and haul it to the street in a wheelbarrow than it is to build it.
Detail of bulkhead under cockpit seats - I cut the clamp (10) at an angle so that the new clamp would fit inside it.
Detail of aft end of the forward rail (18) - the new rail will fit inside this one. (I hope.)
